Cantina del Barone was founded in Cesinali, a small agricultural town in the province of Avellino, where the Sarno family has been tending to their land for over a century. In the mid-1990s, Antonio Sarno purchased the estate, which had previously belonged to a baron from Naples, continuing the challenging work of cultivating the land in harmony with its exceptional microclimate. Here, on volcanic soils rich in minerals and well-structured with an optimal skeletal content, the south-facing exposure provides perfect sunlight. Combined with the influence of Monte Terminio and Monte Partenio, this creates the ideal habitat for Fiano grapes to thrive.

"In the countryside, after a day's work, men would raise their glass of wine to eye level, observe it, let the light pass through it before drinking it with care. The centuries-old trees followed their destiny, century after century, and such slowness bordered on eternity." (Pierre Sansot)
