The Ducco family (De Duchis) has ancient roots, dating back to the 1100s, with members who distinguished themselves in ecclesiastical, poetic, civil, and military fields. In 1564, Count Cosimo Ducco was mentioned by Agostino Gallo as an expert in viticulture. The Passirano estate, where the winery is located today, was already famous for its “perfect wines” in the 1600s.
In 1968, Count Piero founded the Conti Ducco winery, marking an enological turning point with the production of high-quality wines, including Bordeaux-style wines and classic method sparkling wines. After a devastating snowfall in 1981, the winery specialized in producing Metodo Classico sparkling wines and introduced varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Today, the Ducco family continues to innovate, investing in advanced technologies and sustainable agricultural practice, with a strong focus on quality and environmental respect.
